The One With The Opposites...

These two couldn't be more different.

He's blonde and pale like mommy, she's brunette and olive like daddy.
He's kicked back and very chill, she's a busy body and miss sassy.
He can take or leave sleeping, she's a sleeper.

But one thing they have in common is that they make us laugh on a daily basis and melt our hearts with how much they love each other already.

We had a fun Easter and I can hardly wait for next year because it's only going to get better.

 All dressed up for church.

After church we went to Grandma & Grandpa Anema's to open Easter baskets.

Then we headed to my Grandpa's for lunch.

We ended the day back and Matt's parents for dinner and then my parents came to our house to do more Easter baskets! It was a long and busy day, but the kiddos did great and even managed to stay on schedule :)

This Sunday Cole & Faith turned 7 months. 7 months! They are going to be turning 1 before we know it! And because it's never too early to start thinking about their 1st birthday, the planning already has begun :) Thank goodness for Pinterest finally creating private pin boards!

It's that time for another monthly update on the kiddos, so here it is...

 Cole Matthew

Your sleeping patterns: We finally figured out that you LOVE to sleep on your side. This makes things much easier because you are napping much better, but it also can be a bit of a hindrance because you wake up if your not on your side. 9 times out of 10 you are the first one awake in the morning, but Mommy usually doesn't know when you're awake because you love to just lay in your crib and take your time waking up, usually waiting till 7:00am to start making any noises to let me know your

ready for breakfast.

Your feeding schedule: You are still getting a 7 oz. bottle every four hour. You started eating oatmeal and fruit in the morning along with veggies at night. You are a great eater and so far you've liked everything Mommy has made for you. You had mangos for the first time last night and loved the new sweet taste.

Happy as can be after dinner.

Sounds and motions you make: You are FINALLY rolling over from you back to tummy! Once on your tummy you get frustrated because tummy time has never been a favorite of yours. You are also a great stander now. You are so proud of yourself and get the biggest grin.

Your dislikes: Long periods of time in the jumper. Other then that you are a really happy boy and not much gets you upset.

Your favorite toys: You absolutely love watching Praise Baby. You coo and smile at all the babies. You also love this new toy Grandma Anema put in your Easter basket. It's the perfect teether and we highly recommend it :)
What we are learning this month: Hopefully you will be starting to show signs of crawling soon. (Although life is going to get a little more crazy interesting once that begins!)

Faith Olivia

Your sleeping patterns: You have become quite the crazy mover while you sleep, especially now that you aren't swaddled anymore. The minute we lay you down you flip over on your belly and often fall asleep that way. I'm hoping that sleeping on your belly will finally let the hair on the back of your head grow in :) You are usually the one to fall asleep first and wake up last. You love (and need) your sleep just like Mommy.

Your feeding schedule: You love your food, although no one would know since your still a petite littl thing. You are still getting a 7 oz. bottle every four hour and eating oatmeal and fruit in the morning along with veggies at night. There isn't a food you don't like and we can't shovel the food in fast enough. Most of the time you even finish whatever Cole doesn't eat!

Sounds and motions you make: You are a little wiggle worm! I think the only time you stay still is while your sleeping, and even then you are moving all around your crib. You love to roll over but get frustrated because you want to be on the move. I have a feeling you will be the first You have also started grabbing anything and everything you can get your hands on.

Still standing every chance she gets.

Crazy hair after bath time.

Your dislikes: You have become a sassy little thing and you're definitely not afraid to tell us when you don't like something. You're biggest dislike is probably riding in the car because you are being restricted in your carseat. You also dislike waiting for your food.

Your favorite toys: Your paci! Not sure it's meant to be a toy, but it definitely has become one for you. Your new goal in life is to search for any paci you can find...even if it's in Cole's mouth :) You also love Praise Baby and your new teether from Grandma Anema.

What we are learning this month:
I'm guessing crawling in just around the corner!

The One With A 1/2 Year Old...Already!?

(Thank you Grandma for the bunny ears!)

I know I said this last month, and I'll probably keep saying with each age and milestone, but I am LOVING this age! They have grow so much physically and developmentally this past month. It has been so fun to watch and be a part of. This is what life is like for us at 6 months:

 Cole Matthew
Height: 27.5in (85th percentile)
Weight: 16lb 6oz (30th percentile)

Your sleeping patterns: You still sleep through the night, but you aren't much of a napper anymore. Instead of sleeping 2 hours as usual, most days you only sleep an hour or so, if that. Some naps are better than others, but at least you make up for it at night :) We put you to bed around 7:30 and you wake up at 7:00 in the morning.

Your feeding schedule: You eat 7oz. every 4 hours. We've started giving you veggies at night at dinner time and you're loving it. So far you have eaten sweet potatoes, avocado, butternut squash, peas, and carrots. So far your favorite is sweet potatoes.

Sounds and motions you make: You talk all the time. Your voice isn't quite as high is it used to be, but it still so very sweet. You love to grab and hold onto your feet. You are also getting good at taking your paci out and putting it back in! You still loving gnawing on your hands. I think teething is fast approaching.

Your dislikes: Taking naps and waiting for your food :)

Your favorite toys: Playing with the toys on your play-mat and taking walks with Mommy, Faith, and Cooper.

What we are learning this month: You are just starting to stand up while we hold you. You are also very close to rolling over from back to tummy.

Faith Olivia
Height: 26in (50th percentile)
Weight: 13lb 13oz (10th percentile)

Your sleeping patterns: You have become a much better sleeper at night! You only wake up 1-2 times just wanting your paci, then your back to sleep right away. You are a great napper, sleeping 2 hours every time. Thankfully you sleep through your sweet brother's cries :) Although, the pediatrician said we have to start weening you from your swaddle so your not sleeping as deeply anymore the past 2 days, but hopefully you will be back to being a start napper soon. You also go to bed around 7:30 and you are usually still sleeping when Cole wakes up in the morning at 7:00, but we get you up too so your on the same schedule as your brother.

Your feeding schedule: You eat 7oz. every 4 hours just like your brother. Sadly, you refuse to nurse anymore and stopped completely last week :( You are just too curious and don't want to work for it anymore now that you get a bottle 2 days a week. You are also getting veggies at night at dinner time. You've also eaten sweet potatoes, avocado, butternut squash, peas, and carrots. You love it all except for the avocado. Your favorite so far is butternut squash.

Sounds and motions you make: You are finally starting to be more vocal. Not as much as Cole, but you give us lots of giggles and smiles. You are still our little stander. You bounce back and forth so long you fall asleep bouncing!
(My voice is SUPER annoying...I know :)

Your dislikes: Laying down while playing for long periods of time and being held like a baby.

Your favorite toys: Your jumperoo and definitely your favorite. You also love grabbing our faces and pulling on toys that hang down from your carseat.

What we are learning this month: Rolling all around! You just started rolling over from you back to your belly and you are having so much fun moving around the floor. We need to watch you though because sometime you roll yourself by Cole's feet and end up getting kicked in the head :)

Faith & Cole,
You both are such good babies and I can't stop myself from kissing you all day long. I have so much fun staying home with you and it makes going to work a little easier knowing that I get 5 whole days taking care of you and watching you grow. I am so thankful I was home when you, Faith, rolled over for the first time yesterday morning and that I got to see the look on your face afterwards. You were so proud of yourself! I love that I get to spend my mornings tickling you, Cole, and hearing your infectious giggle. I look forward to our walks each day that you both enjoy so much. It makes trying to lose this baby weight it little bit more enjoyable (although you both were definitely worth every pound :)
I love you both more than you'll ever know!

The One with A Whole Lot of Everything...

 Happy (belated) Valentine's Day!

Thank you so much, Sisterlee Photography, for taking some adorable pictures of our little love bugs!

Last week Thursday the kiddos turned 5 months old. I am really loving this age. They are starting to play with toys and their little personalities are really starting to come out. They just started eating every 4 hours and taking 2 hours naps which is a.maz.ing. I am able to get so much more done during the day now. They have also started eating rice cereal before their last feeding at night and they're loving it.

I celebrated my first birthday as a mommy last week. I had to work, but my mother-in-law brought me lunch and took the kiddos along which I LOVED.

Here is a picture of Faith & Cole in the window seat at Shenandoah, celebrating with Matt's family. We also went out with my family to Spaghettinis. It was the babies first time at a fancy restaurant and they were naturals :)

I never got the chance to post any pictures from Christmas, so here they are...

Christmas Eve at the Anemas..

Lovin' on my Coley boy.

And Christmas night at the Rollemas...

Checking out Matt's new BBQ.

My parents finally joined the 21st Century and got each other an ipad and iphone.

We went with the Witts to Palm Desert over MLK weekend and got some much needed relaxation.

No, I did not lay my babies out in the sun to tan. This was JUST for a photo opt :)

Love the Witts!

Well, I think I'm all caught up on what we have been doing. Now for the 5 month update!

Cole Matthew
Sweet Cole, you are such a happy baby. This month you have really started to discover toys and how to play. You continue to love laying on your play mat and just started to grab onto the toys and try to pull them into your mouth. You also started to giggle which is THE sweetest noise I have ever heard. You love it when daddy tickles your feet and your tummy. You continue to talk our ears off and have the sweetest high pitch little voice. You are still sleeping well, although we had one rough week where you decided to start waking up again. But thankfully we are back to our normal sleeping through the night. We call you our little butter ball because you are just so soft and squishy. You love to cuddle and rest all your weight on whoever is holding you. You still refuse to stand, but you do love bouncing side to side in the jumperoo. You are still a great eater, drinking 6-7oz every feeding and you love scarfing down rice cereal at night. We can't get enough of your big blue eyes and sweet smile. We love you oh so much!

Faith Olivia

Little miss Faith, you bring us such much joy. You already have quite the personality and know exactly what you do and don't want. You are still our little stander. It is so funny to see such a tiny little thing standing for as long as you do. You also just started rolling over from your tummy to your back. This has helped you tolerate laying on the play mat, but you still prefer the jumperoo. You love bouncing from side to side until you wear yourself out...

You have also become quite the napper. You were the first one to start napping for 2 hours. I wish this would transfer over to night time. You are still waking up at night either wanting to eat or your paci. You have also become a picky little eater which has this momma very frustrated. Since you get bottles on Mondays and Tuesday while I'm at work, you have decided  you don't like working for your food when I feed you. I am not quite ready to let go of nursing you just yet! Your open mouthed grin melts our hearts and we love you to pieces little peanut.

The One with The Videos...

One year ago today I got a phone call that changed our lives forever. I found out I was pregnant. It was definitely never the way I planned on finding out I was pregnant. I always had in my mind I would pee on a stick one morning and then plan a cute way to tell Matt later that night. Nevertheless, it was the best news we have ever gotten and a special moment we will always remember.

Here are 2 videos of some things Faith and Cole have learned in the past few weeks. Enjoy!
