The One with the 16 Week Update...

How do I feel? That seems to be the question I get the most. As for how I feel, I feel great. I am so thankful that I haven't had any morning sickness. The worst of it has been fatigue at the beginning, but that lasted up to the 1st trimester and now I'm back to normal. I do find myself getting winded more quickly and I've noticed I've been getting light headed if I stand too long, especially during church when we are singing. The other question I get a lot is, do twins run in our family? They actually do, but that is obviously not the reason why I am pregnant with twins. I know it's not anyones business as to how I got pregnant with twins, but I feel like I'm lying if I say, yes they do! I usually end up telling them we did IVF. I'm not ashamed of it, it's not a secret, and I don't feel like I need to hide it. It's actually funny/entertaining for me to see peoples reactions. They usually have a surprised look on their face and don't know how to respond :)

How far along? 16 weeks
Total weight gain: 9lbs still.
Maternity clothes? All bottoms & some tops still. Finding it harder to fit into my summery tops as the weather gets warmer.
Stretch marks? Not yet!
Sleep: Sleep is good, but waking up is rough. My back has continued to bother me. But I finally figured out to put a pillow between my legs while I sleep which has really seemed to help my lower back. I think I'm going to start looking for a pregnancy pillow soon.
Best moment this week: Another doctors appointment and ultrasound. We got a really good picture of Baby A;s profile. So cute!
Miss Anything? Not this week. I'm really enjoying every bit of this pregnancy so far :)
Movement: Still nothing :/
Food cravings: Black Angus dinner salads. I could eat that every day. They have the best ranch! MmmMmmm.
Gender: We find out this coming Wednesday!!
Labor Signs: Nope
Symptoms: I woke up to a Charlie Horse for the first time this week. OUCH!!
Belly Button in or out? Getting shallower by the day.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Looking forward to: Finding out the sexes and getting ready for the Gender Reveal Party!

The One with 15 Weeks...

Not a whole lot of new going on this week. I thoroughly enjoyed my Spring Break and I'm counting down the days till summer...7 more weeks! Here is this weeks picture and update. I feel like I've finally popped this week, even though I'm sure this picture doesn't look very different from last weeks :)

How far along? 15 weeks
Total weight gain: 9lbs. Yep! I gained 6 lbs this week. I've been trying to eat every 2 hours. I never thought I'd be excited about gaining wait nor had a hard time doing it, but I've really been struggling to keep/put on the pounds...not that I'm complaining :) I am being healthy about it though, eating a lot of protein (including protein shakes), fruits & veggies. Believe it or not, it's hard work eating for 3!
Maternity clothes? All bottoms & some tops.
Stretch marks? Not yet...fingers crossed!
Sleep: Good. I did wake up for the first time last night to go pee though :/
Best moment this week: I thought I would be saying the ultrasound I had on Friday BUT it wasn't what I expected. I laid there for 1 1/2 hours staring at the ceiling while Matt got to look at the screen as the tech. took all their measurements. She said they looked great, they are the same size (4oz.) and measuring 1 week ahead, which is great news :)
Miss Anything? My big bladder. It's taken awhile, but the non-stop bathroom trips have all of a sudden started this week.
Movement: Not yet. Hopefully in about more 5 weeks or so.
Food cravings: Granny Smith apple and peanut butter. I can have this at least twice a day :)
Gender: Matt & I will find out May 2nd! But the rest of you will have to wait until after our Gender Reveal Party on the 6th :)
Labor Signs: Nope
Symptoms: Still lower back pain. I went to my Chiropractor today and feel much better.
Belly Button in or out? Getting shallower by the day.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Looking forward to: Open House being over so I can concentrate on planning the Gender Reveal Party :)

The One with Easter...

We had such a great Easter. We started the day off by going to Church where we had an amazing service. Then we went to my grandpa's house and enjoyed his famous steak. Although he is 87 years old, he can still barbeque a mean steak. The best. We ended the day at Matt's parents where we had the traditional Easter dinner which included delicous ham and cheesy potatoes. Yum! No egg hunt this year since there aren't any young kiddos on either side...yet! But, the babies did get their first Easter basket from Grandma and Grandpa Anema. Although, I was told Grandpa was the one who picked out everything :) And he did a GREAT job. They each got some books, bath toys, and carseat toys. Seeing all of this baby stuff definitely made it seem a little more real.

These babies are already so spoiled :)

Here is this weeks bump pic and update...

How far along? 14 weeks
Total weight gain: 3lbs. I opened up the book When You're Expecting Twins, Triplets, or Quads, and I got a rude awakening to how much food I should be eating. It's time to gain some weight!
Maternity clothes? Pants and some shirts. Found some cute summery things this week :)
Stretch marks? None yet. I've been lathering up on BioOil everyday, although I know it's all about genetics :/
Sleep: Pretty good, other than waking up to blow my nose. I am so sick of having a cold!
Best moment this week: Spring Break! I've had so much fun sleeping in, organizing/de-cluttering the house, and shopping :)
Miss Anything? My strong, healthy immune system.
Movement: Not yet
Food cravings: I've never been a fan of Mexican food, but chips and salsa sound so good!
Gender: Made an appointment for May 2nd to find out!!!
Labor Signs: Nope
Symptoms: Low back pain. Every time I cough, sneeze, or bend over, I get a shoot of pain. I've always had back problems, and have gone to the Chiropractor once a months for years. It's always been a fear of mine wondering how my back would handle being pregnant.
Belly Button in or out? In, but Matt has pointed out that it's getting more shallow :)
Wedding rings on or off? On
Looking forward to: Ultrasound appointment Friday, and then shopping with the Grandmas-to-be afterwards.

The One with the 2nd Trimester...

This week starts the beginning of the 2nd Trimester! Up until now, things have seemed to go by pretty slow, but now that I'm in the 2nd tri, it seems like it's going to start flying by. I already have both family and friends shower dates on the calendar, which I am so excited for! I read some moms of multiples (M.o.Ms.) chat boards, and they have all suggested to have your showers before 28 weeks. They said that since you could be put on bed rest at anytime, it's best to have them earlier than later. Also, many of them said after 28 weeks you are miserable and exhausted (especially since your body measures 6 plus weeks ahead when carrying multiples). It's still hard for me to believe it's my turn and I will be having baby showers thrown for me! So surreal.

How far along? 13 weeks
Total weight gain: back down to 3lbs
Maternity clothes? All pants. Looking forward to shopping for more during Spring Break.
Stretch marks? None yet
Sleep: Good. I still haven't had to get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom yet. I asked my Dr. today about sleeping on my back, and he told Matt there is no need to worry about that yet. So, hopefully no more being rolled over in the middle of the night :)
Best moment this week: Seeing the pumpkins moving around on the ultrasound again. One of the perks of having twins...getting ultrasounds every appointment!
Miss Anything? Nope
Movement: Not yet
Food cravings: Still haven't had any "craving". I'm ready for them though :)
Gender: Hoping to find out sooner than later!
Labor Signs: Nope
Symptoms: Nothing new.
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Looking forward to: Our ultrasound appointment next week where we MIGHT be able to find out the sexes!
