The One with Buy Buy Baby...

This past Saturday we took a trip with Matt's parents to Temecula to go to a store called Buy Buy Baby. It is owned by Bed Bath and Beyond, and looks just like that inside, but filled with baby things. We went there because that's the only place that carries the stroller we want. It was fun to finally not feel out of place in a baby store and be able to look at all the fun things. Grandpa & Grandma Anema bought the babies some onesies to wear to represent the family business. They will definitely rock these whether they are boys, girls, or one of each...of coarse I'll have to add a cute bow or headband if there's a girl :)

I also told my students the exciting news last Friday. I gave them a word search filled with words about babies, and then a decodable message they had to figure out which said Mrs. Anema is having a baby! I had to clarified that it wasn't one, but two! They were all so excited. They kept hugging me and telling me how happy they were for me. It brought tears to my eyes seeing their pure excitement. They ask me everyday how the babies are doing and always pray for them at lunch :)


I can't believe I'm already at 12 weeks...just one week away from the 2nd trimester!!

How far along? 12 Weeks
Total weight gain: 5 lbs
Maternity clothes? Loving my maternity leggings.
Stretch marks? None yet
Sleep: Pretty good. Matt is paranoid about me sleeping on my back since it can interfere with blood flow, so he will move me on my side or wake me up if he sees me sleeping on my back. lol It's sweet that he is concerned, but I need my sleep!
Best moment this week: Looking around Buy Buy Baby for the many things we will need one day!
Miss Anything? Nope
Movement: Not yet.
Food cravings: Still haven't had an extreme cravings. Mexican food has been sounding good this week.
Gender: Hopefully we will know in 4-6 weeks!
Labor Signs: Nope
Symptoms: I've been visiting the bathroom a lot more lately.

Looking forward to: Another appointment this week. Hopefully we will get to have another ultrasound :)

The One with the Maternity Clothes...

This past Saturday my mom and I went shopping for maternity clothes. Shopping is our favorite past time to do together. Our favorite spot to go is Fashion Island, but we headed to Crystal Court at South Coast Plaza this time to check out Pea in a Pod for maternity clothes. I've been so excited to get some comfy clothes to wear, but I was a little nervous because I wasn't sure I was big enough to be shopping for them yet. Well, the sales women was extremely helpful and said that the time to get maternity clothes is when you start getting uncomfortable...which was me! I had so much fun trying on all of the cute clothes. My favorite part was trying on the 7 month bump they had in the dressings room. (See picture below) It was fun trying it on with clothes to see what I will look like in a few months...probably more like at 5 months than 7 months for me :) Well, I got some great things, and now look forward to getting dressed in my cute & comfy clothes every morning.

Maternity clothes? Yes! All bottoms, and a few tops (just because they're cute :)
Stretch marks? None yet
Sleep: Still sleeping good!
Best moment this week: Seeing or pumpkins move around on the ultrasound and hearing their heartbeats for the first time!
Miss Anything? Note this week
Movement: Not feeling anything yet, but they are definitely moving around in there from what we saw :)
Food cravings: PB&J sandwich is my go to food this week.

Symptoms: Gradually getting my energy back.

The One with the News Announced...

I announced that I was pregnant on Facebook yesterday! It feels so good to have the news out and not to have to hide it or my growing belly anymore :) It was so fun reading all of the supportive and thoughtful congratulations from so many people. Definitely made a girl feel loved :) I had mixed feelings about putting it on Facebook. Facebook has always been hard for me when it comes to pregnancy. Every time I would read a pregnancy announcement over the past 2 1/2 years, my heart would drop. Not because I wasn't happy for that person, I just wished it was me too. So now that it is finally my turn, I want to be sensitive to those going through what I've been through, whether I know if they are or not. I went back and forth for a long time and finally decided I would put something simple and sweet. This isn't something I want to or should hide. I can't control how others feel, but I can be sensitive to it. I also don't want to hide the fact that we did IVF. I feel like infertility is this unspoken/hidden thing, and it should be the opposite. The most comforting thing to have is support from those who have gone through infertility. I pray I can be that for someone someday, like so many have been for me.

How far along? 10 Weeks
Total weight gain: 0 lbs... Back to my pre-babies weight. I think this is due to the inability to eat a decent sized meal :/
Maternity clothes? So sick of being uncomfortable. The Belly Band isn't cutting it anymore and my leggings are even too tight for comfort. Hoping to go maternity clothes shopping this weekend.
Stretch marks? None yet
Sleep: Still sleeping good!
Best moment this week: Announcing our news to the world :)
Miss Anything? I do miss being able to eat normal amounts of food. I get full extremely fast and then get really uncomfortable. I mean, I can't even finish a dinner salad!
Movement: Not yet.
Food cravings: Not craving a whole lot. Mac n' Cheese always sounds good though.
Gender: ??
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: Thankfully, just tired.

Looking forward to: Our OB appointment next week and getting to see the little pumpkins again :)

The One with the 9 Week Update...

How far along? 9 Weeks
Total weight gain: 5 lbs
Maternity clothes? All of my pants are pretty much unwearable. Going to look for some maternity pants this week.
Stretch marks? None yet
Sleep: Pretty good. Taking a lot of naps, but sleeping really light at night, so waking up a lot at every toss and turn.
Best moment this week: Telling the rest of our family!
Miss Anything? Nope :)
Movement: Still too early
Food cravings: Just fruit. Other than that, I don't have a huge appetite. I get fully really quick.
Gender: ??
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: Still exhausted
